I want to introduce all of you to our newest choir member. His name is John Daker and he's amazingly talented. Great to have a new tenor with us.
Here's his audition, just so you all can see what a great talent he has.

I have so many things to say. There's so much to love about this video. I had to listen to it twice and take notes the second time, because I had so many comments. The pianist to begin with. Her hairdo! And clearly, she has been sitting on that piano bench for the entire fifty five years, perhaps all the while snacking on Doritos while instructing her pupils, but then, who I am to talk? Let's move on to Mr. Daker. He's like a ventriloquist singer; the lips barely move. The pained expression on his face is priceless. And why would one choose to segue from "Christ the Lord is Risen" straight into "That's Amore"?....what a logical juxtaposition of songs! And finally, my favorite parts.....he just opens and closes his mouth wordlessly during parts of the hymn, and then....this is the best part......Brother Daker gives a slight grin as he reconciles himself to the fact that he cannot conjure up the words to "That's Amore", and then gamely launches into some rather spirited humming! He's a showstopper! Everyone please make him feel welcome at our next rehearsal.
This is just great. I would like to see our entire choir imitating this guy on Sunday. He's amazing. I wonder if we could get him a spot with the Chordsmen? I bet it would make Sonny, William, and Wayne so happy.
